Mt. Hood, OR – Mt. Hood Meadows is now open daily, and the Oregon ski resort is celebrating the new season with its annual BrewFest this Saturday
The Winter Brewfest will take place from noon to 5 p.m. in the resort’s Vertical Restaurant, where you can taste some of the Northwest’s best microbrews. Everybody’s Brewing, Double Mountain, Laurelwood, Widmer, Full Sail, Mt. Hood Winery, Hood River Ciderworks and Naked Winery will all be sampling. The $12 entry fee includes a glass mug and four beverage chits, and extra chits may be purchased at $1 per 3-oz. sample. World’s Finest will perform live from 1 to 5 p.m.
A bus will be leaving from the Hood River News parking lot in Hood River at 10 a.m. heading to the BrewFest, and will depart Mt. Hood Meadows at 5 p.m. A limited number of seats on the bus are available on a first come, first served basis. Guests can board as early as 9:30 a.m., and the round-trip costs $10.
The resort is now operating three high-speed quads including Mt. Hood Express, Cascade Express and Shooting Star Express from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily. With the colder temperatures the snow cover is exceptionally light powder, although early season conditions apply and skiers and snowboarders should be aware of unmarked obstacles.
