Washington, DC – There’s still a week left in January, he sixth national “Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month” (LSSM), and leading ski area lodges and hotels have introduced discounted accommodations to this program with savings of up to 50 percent.
Ski areas and resorts in over 30 states celebrate LSSM with special offers to get children and adults out on the snow and taking lessons from a professional instructor. The industry initiative is organized by the National Ski Areas Association, the Professional Ski Instructors of America-American/Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI), the National Ski Patrol, SnowSports Industries America, numerous state and regional resort associations, industry partners and the snow sports media. Over 200,000 children and adults have learned to ski and snowboard via the program’s discounts on lift tickets, rental equipment and instruction.
Each lodging package listed below includes a snowboarding or skiing lesson from teachers certified by the PSIA-AASI. Research shows such lessons greatly increase the likelihood of someone sticking with skiing or snowboarding, versus having a friend or family member offer instruction to a first-timer.
