Quebec City Ski Resorts Join Forces

Quebec (QC), Canada – A new strategic alliance formed between the Quebec City and Charlevoix region’s three largest ski resorts and many lodging properties has created a unique three-mountain lift ticket available to visitors who book an overnight stay in the area.

Starting this winter, the St. Lawrence Summits multi-peak lift ticket will enable skiers and riders to move from one resort to another as they please. With a single ticket, purchased through a participating hotel in the Quebec City, Stoneham or Charlevoix region, skiers are free to wait until morning to decide whether they’ll spend the day at Le Massif de Charlevoix, Mont-Sainte-Anne or Stoneham Mountain Resort.

“Our primary objective is to give skiers more flexibility to help boost tourist traffic in our regions. We’re convinced that all partners will benefit from the project,” asserts Daniel Rochon, General Manager and Vice President of both Mont-Sainte-Anne and Stoneham Mountain Resort.

The St. Lawrence Summits offer is expected to provide an average discount of 30%, both on accommodation and lift tickets. Skiers using the multi-peak ticket will be able to take advantage of five different options all season long. During December, guests will earn 50% off the second night of accommodation and second day on the mountain. January offers a free third night of accommodation and free third day on the mountain. A surprise package will be added to the January offer during the month of February. In March, aside from during Spring Break, kids ages 17 and under ski for free.

“This new product will allow us to better position ourselves in a context where North American competition in the skiing sector is fierce. We can now offer a truly world-class multi-activity winter destination, where skiing is the flagship product,” says Daniel Guay, owner of Hébergement Charlevoix and member of the Tourisme Charlevoix board of directors.

Skiers using this new purchasing option will benefit from quick and easy access to the slopes thanks to web-based technology enabling them to avoid ticket lines at all three resorts. Skiers simply head each morning to the special ticket window bearing the St. Lawrence Summits logo to pick up their lift ticket.

The SKI BUS will provide a morning and evening shuttle service seven days a week between hotels in Quebec and Sainte-Foy and Le Massif de Charlevoix and Mont-Sainte-Anne, from December 20, 2014 through March 29, 2015.

An initial joint investment of approximately C$600,000 will fund a major promotional campaign for the St. Lawrence Summits project and promote the product through the advertising leverage of partners such as the Office de tourisme de Québec, Tourisme Charlevoix, affiliated Quebec ATRs and Tourisme Québec. The campaign will feature numerous advertisements in Quebec, Ontario and the United States.
