Seattle, WA – K2 Skis and the K2 Ski Alliance, an organization that helps unite female skiers, has announced its second annual International Women’s Ski Day (IWSD). On Saturday, Dec. 13, women from all around the world are invited to get together to celebrate skiing and the power of female camaraderie by having fun on and off the slopes.
“K2 is proud to host the second annual International Women’s Ski Day. The day is aimed at achieving one simple concept: encourage more females to go skiing,” said Alyssa Clark, K2 Skis’ Marketing Coordinator and Women’s Ski Team Manager. “IWSD is supposed to be mellow, stress free and more than anything, fun. Because, when do you have more fun than when you’re skiing with your friends? Set any hesitations aside and join us in celebrating the sport we all love so much.”
For regions with snow, women are encouraged to bundle up, grab some skis and spend a day on the slopes with the important ladies in their lives: moms, sisters, daughters, grandmothers and friends. K2 will be teaming up with SheJumps to promote the day for the second year running. Flagship events at Crystal Mountain (Wash.), Killington (Vt.) and Christy Sports in Vail (Colo.) will have various activities including yoga, scavenger hunts, raffles and après parties. Event proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and SheJumps.
Thanks to an interactive map on K2’s website, women across the globe can find IWSD events going on nearby or plan an event of their own by adding a new pin to the map. This page serves as an information hub and online gathering place for all events, which are presently scheduled to take place in every major ski region of the U.S., plus Canada, Europe and Scandinavia.
