Bethany (ON), Canada – Provincial authorities are reporting a fatal crash on the ski slopes in Ontario over the weekend.

Dave Day, 63, of Whitby, Ontario and a ski instructor with the Kawartha Ski and Snowboard School, was reportedly taking a warm-up run on Saturday at Devil’s Elbow Ski & Snowboard Area in Bethany when he crashed into a tree. Witnesses indicate that Day’s skis came off prior to the impact with the tree.

Results of an autopsy conducted on Monday are pending.
