Cornwall, CT – Guests visiting Connecticut’s Mohawk Mountain ski area this winter will find an expanded and reconfigured lodge at the base of the resort.
Staffers and contractors spent the summer adding an 1,800-square foot second floor addition to the building, doubling the lodge’s seating capacity. New retail space is being constructed downstairs and the food service area is being reconfigured. Outside, they’ve built a welcoming area behind the lodge featuring heated pavers, benches and an open gas fire pit.
The addition to the 1969 building has been designed to appear as if it was part of the original structure all along.
Mohawk Mountain’s Hawk’s Nest learning area is being supplemented this winter by a second moving carpet lift and a new warming hut called The Perch, featuring roughly 25 tables, rest rooms and a television.
