The name was changed to Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort — quite a mouthful — in 2003. But the locals kept calling it Lee Canyon, its original name in the 1960s, all along.

The resort’s new website will debut next week at www.leecanyonlv.com. All of the resort’s signage and marketing materials will reflect the new name beginning this season.

The resort, located 47 miles northwest of and over 6,000 feet higher than Las Vegas, sits high on the slopes of 11,916-foot Mt. Charleston. Plans are still in place to expand the 762-vertical foot ski area into a bustling complex featuring 50 trails and 10 lifts spanning 1,655 vertical feet.
