Vail, CO – Inspired by the Norse goddess of winter, Vail Mountain will host its inaugural annual SKADI Fest, a women’s ski event at the Colorado resort’s Lionshead base. From January 20-22, 2016, female skiers will be treated to customized on-mountain guided experiences with female instructors, evening VIP events, and female-specific ski equipment demos.
“SKADI, pronounced ‘Scotty,’ means the Norse goddess of winter, and in essence, this will be a gathering of skiing goddesses, near and far,” said Vice President of Corporate Communications Kelly Ladyga. “This event in January is reflective of the overall expanded female-specific offerings we are providing this year company-wide, and we hope that the welcoming environment of this event helps ignite, renew or enrich the participant’s passion for snowsports.”
From film premieres to a culinary presentations and wine tasting education, SKADI Fest is about the full experience, both on- and off-mountain. Participants will also receive a 20 percent discount on any treatments at RockResorts Spas at The Lodge at Vail and The Arrabelle at Vail Square.
“Skiing is about more than just making turns; the friendships and camaraderie built while skiing enhance the experience, and we hope that’s what SKADI Fest participants ski away with – improved skills and new or deepened connections with others,” said Ladyga.
Room rates for SKADI Fest start at $213 per night. For the full event schedule or to register, visit www.vail.com/events/skadi.aspx
