Food Donation Earns a $37 Lift Ticket at Crested Butte

Mt. Crested Butte, CO – In an effort to help the local community, Colorado’s Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) is hosting two food drives this winter. The first is on December 6, 2015 and the second is on February 28, 2016, both of which will support the Crested Butte and Gunnison food banks. During each food drive, guests who donate three non-perishable, non-expired food items will receive a voucher for a $37 full day lift ticket, valid on that day.

“As a company we value our local community and are always looking for ways to be supportive, and give back. We thought that providing food for both the Gunnison and Crested Butte food pantries was a great way for us to help, from the CBMR family,” explains Ethan Mueller, president of CBMR. “It is something that as a company we have done for years at Okemo Mountain in Vermont and we want to do the same here in Crested Butte.”

When a guest brings three cans of non-perishable food to the Adventure Center on December 6, or February 28 between 8 a.m. and noon, they will receive a coupon for a $37 lift ticket to be used that day. Volunteers will help collect food donations and sort into boxes. CBMR will then transport the goods to the food shelves in both Gunnison and Crested Butte. The local food pantries encourage canned protein items, such as canned tuna, chili, peanut butter and soups, but of course all donations are welcome.
