Rescuers were notified of the overdue 26-year-old male skier at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. At around 1 a.m. Sunday morning, in windy conditions with temperatures at around -6ºC, a 15-member search party from South Cariboo Search and Rescue found ski tracks leading out of bounds onto the mountain’s backside.

The man was found about an hour later, cold but uninjured. He said that he had skied into the trees, believing that he could make it back to the resort when he became lost.
