Aspen, CO – Authorities have located and interviewed a man suspected of pushing an Aspen snowboarder off a chairlift at Aspen Highlands on Monday.

No charges have yet been filed and the investigation remains open, the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office indicates. Police have declined to identify the suspect, who resides in the Aspen area and was identified through surveillance footage at Aspen Highlands.

Scott Beckton, 28, an Aspen-area photographer, alleges that he was pushed out of Highlands’ Loge Peak chairlift by a skier sharing his chair. Beckton’s story went viral, and many observers doubted the veracity of his claims.
