Skier Dies at California’s Mt. Waterman

La Cañada Flintridge, CA – A 61-year-old man died on Saturday following a skiing accident at Mt. Waterman ski area, in the Angeles National Forest.

Initial reports indicate that William Robert Eslick Jr. of Winnetka, Calif., collided with a tree at the resort, located about 45 miles northeast of Los Angeles along the Angeles Crest Highway.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene at approximately 1:15 p.m. An autopsy to determine the cause of death is planned.

Relying entirely upon natural snow, following several years of drought Mt. Waterman opened last month for the first time in three years.
