Caledonia, WI – A 24-year-old woman died after colliding with a tree on Saturday at Wisconsin’s Cascade Mountain ski area.

The unidentified victim struck the tree at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department reports.

“The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call along with Divine Savior EMS. Also assisting on scene was the Ski Patrol from Cascade Mountain and the Columbia County Medical Examiner’s Office,” Sheriff Dennis Richards indicates. “A 24-year-old female was later pronounced deceased at Divine Savior Hospital. The name of the victim is being withheld until family can be notified.

“The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office investigation will continue, however the incident appears to be accidental at this time,” Richards concluded.
