New GM for Vermont’s Suicide Six

Woodstock, VT – Timothy Reiter has been named as Ski Area Manager at Suicide Six in central Vermont. In addition to overseeing winter operations, Reiter will also work to establish the mountain as a year-round destination for sporting and cultural events, as well as develop and implement a variety of new activities for Woodstock Inn & Resort guests and the community at large.

“The appointment of a strong leader and the installation of a new quad chairlift signals Woodstock Resort’s commitment to protect the historical significance of Suicide Six and to evolve the overall ski experience for both the community and our guests,” said Gary S. Thulander, president and general manager of the Woodstock Inn & Resort. “Tim brings nearly 20 years of industry experience to Suicide Six, and we are delighted to have him join the resort team in such a pivotal role.”

Previously, Reiter was the Mountain Operations Manager at Killington and Pico Ski Resort Partners for seven years. Most recently, he worked as a Western U.S. Sales Manager for TechnoAlpin Snow Experts in Colorado, makers of snow guns and snowmaking solutions, where he managed more than 120 resort relationships and designed snowmaking systems. Additional experience includes directing the Jaguar Land Rover Experience at Quail, an off-road driving school.

An avid snowboarder and skier, Reiter and his family reside in Bethel, Vt.

Construction is underway on the new quad chairlift that will replace Chair #1 at Suicide Six, doubling uphill capacity and providing a more comfortable and rapid ascent to the top. Leitner-Poma of America, Inc., based in Grand Junction, Colo., is installing the new lift at an estimated cost of $1.5 million. Installation is on track for completion in time for a mid-December opening. Funding for the new chairlift is being provided through a grant from the Laurance S. Rockefeller Fund.
