Henniker, NH – Southern New Hampshire’s Pats Peak ski area will participate in the Vertical Challenge Race Series on Sunday, February 5. It’s a fun, all-day event for the whole family with a slalom race, prizes, giveaways, awards party and more.
The race course will be set on Pats Peak’s Downdraft trail. The race is free of charge to all who have purchased a lift ticket for that day or have a Pats Peak Season Pass. The race is open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities with over 30 race categories. The top three racers in each category are awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals. All medal winners receive free lift tickets for the Finals held at Jay Peak Resort, Vt. on Saturday, April 8 for the chance to compete for the Gold.
“The Vertical Challenge event is always a fun day for skiers and riders of all ages and abilities”, say Jim Wall, events director. “Due to the event being on the same day at the big football game, we plan to race in the morning, enjoy the vertical awards party and then everyone can get home in time for the game”.
Registration will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Main Lodge at Pats Peak. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult for registration. The Vertical Challenge Race starts at 10 a.m. and he Race Awards and a Victory Party will be staged at 1:30 p.m. Participants and resort guests will be entertained throughout the day with interactive games, music, thousands in raffle prizes and plenty of free Pepsi products.
