Colorado Man Dies in Skiing Accident at Keystone

Keystone, CO – A 38-year-old Centennial, Colo. man died Sunday while skiing at Keystone ski resort.nSean Jared Bender was skiing the intermediate Prospector trail on Keystone’s North Peak around 11 a.m. when he struck a tree. He died of blunt force trauma to his chest, according to Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson.

Bender was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. He is survived by a wife and 9-month-old daughter.

Bender’s death is the fourth in Colorado thus far this season. Two have died in avalanches, and the third victim also struck a tree in Aspen.
