Rangeley, ME – Saddleback Maine had a record-breaking day on New Year’s Eve with the highest number of lift tickets sold in the ski resort’s history as part of what resort officials are claiming as a successful holiday week.n”Christmas break was an awesome week for us,” says Chris Farmer, Saddleback’s general manager. “Skier visits were up 28 percent last week compared to the year before and visits to Saddleback are up 23 percent season-to-date. The 38 inches of snow we had that week made skiing conditions truly spectacular.”
Farmer reported that the ski resort’s revenues were up 36 percent for last week and up 24 percent season-to-date. This is in part attributed to the success of Saddleback’s PEAK program for honor roll students throughout New England, with a total of 1,822 Maine and New England PEAK passes sold to date.
Saddleback will celebrate the PEAK pass holders’ accomplishments this Sunday, when PEAK pass holders can register to win either a snowboard or a pair of skis and a group photo and winner of the prize will be chosen at 2:00 p.m. Bob Crowley, the PEAK program’s celebrity spokesman and winner of Survivor: Gabon, will be there as well.
