Val d’Isere, France – An avalanche swept down a French mountainside on Tuesday, killing four off-piste skiers and burying a fifth victim.nThe slide near the Alpine town of Val d’Isere took the lives of two French citizens, one Swede and one Briton, none of whom exhibited a pulse when located. The fifth victim was extricated unscathed, according to Police Lieutenant-Colonel Jean-Claude Gin.
All were wearing avalanche transceivers. A ski instructor was with the group when the incident occurred. It’s unclear, however, if he was one of the victims who perished in the avalanche.
