Mt. Hood, OR – Snowboarders Max Gold of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Bondville, Vt.’s Serena Shaw grabbed the top spots Monday in U.S. Revolution Tour’s halfpipe snowboarding contest held at Mt. Hood Meadows ski resort in Oregon.nThe riders struggled with flat light all day but after a couple of days of snow the pipe was in good shape for Monday’s contest. Gold took the top spot with a score of 35.10, followed by James Haffner, of Darien, Conn., in second with 34.20 and JD Dennis of nearby Bend, Ore., rounding out the top three with 33.70.
“There were a lot of good riders, and I was lucky enough to hit a solid run,” said Gold after his big win.
On the women’s side Shaw clinched the win after her first run with a front 7, cab 3, front 5, back 5, front 3, switch 5 fakie. Rounding out the top three women were Arielle Gold, of Steamboat Springs, Colo., in second and Jenna Dramise, of Henderson, Nev., in third.
