Snowboarder, Dog Found Dead on Berthoud Pass

Berthoud Pass, CO – Searchers on Wednesday located the body of a missing snowboarder and his dog who perished on Berthoud Pass in Colorado.nAuthorities scoured the high mountain pass for nearly three days looking for Jeff Miller, 26, of Winter Park. His body was dug out of deep snow on Wednesday morning immediately below the Fingers area on the Grand County side of the pass, where he was last seen on Monday. The body of his German Shepherd, Beau, was located nearby.

An expert snowboarder originally from Oklahoma, Miller was employed at Smokin’ Moe’s in Winter Park.

The cause of Miller’s death is currently pending an autopsy being conducted by the Grand County Coroner’s Office.
