Sestriere, Italy – Concern for skier safety prompted officials to cancel Friday’s World Cup women’s downhill training after snowfall enshrouded the course in Sestriere, limiting visibility.nInternational Ski Federation (FIS) rules require at least one training run be completed before a downhill may be held. That took place on Thursday, so Saturday’s race will still take place as scheduled.
The final speed races before the upcoming Alpine World Championships, Sestriere will host a downhill on Saturday and a super G on Sunday.
