New Jersey Ski Helmet Bill Closer to Law

Trenton, NJ – A law requiring children to wear a helmet while skiing or snowboarding in New Jersey is advancing through the state legislature this session.nThe bill has already cleared the New Jersey State Senate and has passed out of committee in the Assembly. If approved by an Assembly vote it will head to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to be signed into law or vetoed.

The bill, co-sponsored by Sens. Joe Pennacchio and Anthony Bucco, has been modified to place parents, not ski resorts responsible if a child under the age of 14 is skiing or riding without a helmet.
