Park City, UT – Park City Day School has hosted The HUNT for the past four years, and this year has joined forces with Helly Hansen and Park City Mountain Resort to host Park City’s first Big Mountain Battle.nTeams of two will start the race at the top of the Bonanza lift with a Flaik GPS and a list of checkpoints, lifts and runs they must cover before crossing the finish line at the base. Prizes are awarded to top finishers in each of the three categories: Advanced, Intermediate, and 12 and Under.

The top team wins $2,000 in Helly Hansen gear and entry into the Final Big Mountain Battle in Aspen, Colo. All participants receive a Helly Hansen base layer and subscription to Powder Magazine and are eligible for the prize drawing, which includes two full season passes to Park City Mountain Resort for the 2011-12 season.

A portion of the proceeds from this event support Park City Day School’s Scholarship Program. The competition is open to intermediate and advanced skiers or snowboarders. Participants are eligible to purchase discounted lift tickets the day of the event at Park City Mountain Resort.

Although online registration is closed, those still interested may register on the day of the event from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The race gets underway at 10:30 a.m. this Saturday at the top of Park City Mountain Resort’s Bonanza lift. The race wraps up by 1:30 p.m., and awards will be handed out at 2:00 p.m.
