Utah’s Brian Head Resort Holding Best Picture and Video Contest

Brian Head, UT – Celebrating both its scenic setting and the prodigious amount of “The Greatest Snow on Earth” it receives annually, Brian Head Resort (BHR) in southern Utah is hosting a “Best Picture and Video Contest.” The resort will award winners for both the best photo and the best video on Apr. 1 during Brian Head Resort’s annual Spring Carnival. Both the best still picture and best video will earn season passes for both the remainder of this winter season and for the 2011-12 winter season.nThe criteria for the content of the photos and videos are very broad, only that each video and photo must be either shot at Brian Head or be about Brian Head. The imagery can depict skiers, snowboarders, events, powder, landscapes, sunsets, sunrises, favorite winter memories, or anything else associated with the Utah ski area now celebrating its 45th season.

The submitted photos and videos do not need to be raw /images, they can be enhanced. Submissions can range from a favorite family photo taken during a Brian Head vacation to a short film to a sophisticated, consumer-generated Brian Head TV commercial. Submissions cannot include copyrighted materials, such as songs and likenesses, without the written consent of the copyright holder.

“The goal of the contest is to capture imagery of Brian Head’s wonderful, unique combination: on one hand it’s a fantastic family-friendly setting perfect for beginners and on the other hand it’s a serious snowsports mecca with plenty of black and blue runs often covered deep in Utah powder,” explained Brian Head’s Sales, Marketing and PR Manager, Jon Christoffersen, who developed the contest.

The deadline for submissions is end-of-day Thursday, Mar. 31, 2011, and submissions should be emailed to media(at)brianhead.com. Videos can be in either MPEG-4 or WMV formats. Photos can be either in JPEG or TIF formats. All submissions must be below 12 megabytes. Individuals may send multiple submissions, but each one must be sent in a separate email.

Each submission must include a mailing address or fax number to which Brian Head Resort can send a release form granting it the right to use the videos and photos in its marketing and PR efforts. Submitted videos and photos will not be entered into the contest or used by BHR for marketing or PR purposes without a release form being signed and returned. When the videos and photos are used by the resort, appropriate credit will be given to the respective photographers and videographers.
