Three Time Olympian to Jump in Schweitzer Exhibition

Sandpoint, ID – Three time winter Olympian, Steve Omischl, will be showing his acrobatic skills at Idaho’s Schweitzer Mountain Resort Feb. 25-26 in the Yokes Outrageous Air Show. Omischl competed in the freestyle skiing sport aerials, representing Canada in the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics.nOmischl will be joined by two former members of the Canadian National Freestyle ski team, Olympic Gold Medalist Jean Marc Rozon and Brad Suey. This elite squad of professional jumpers will be joined by seven other members of the Yokes Outrageous Air team as they perform an hour long aerial extravaganza underneath the lights in the Schweitzer Village. They’ll perform double and triple twisting multiple flips, spins and jumps side by side one another through fireworks and fire.

Over Omischl’s 11 year career on the Canadian National Freestyle Team he racked up an impressive number of World Cup medals, over 40 World Cup podiums with half of them being first place finishes. Omischl holds over 20 various titles including World Cup Overall Aerial Champion in 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Omischl also earned four World Championship medals including the Gold Medal in 2005 and more recently a Silver Medal in 2009.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. each night., and is free to the public to attend. It’s coupled with outdoor music, fireworks, a Snow Bar, several firepits and food sampling tents.

Meet the performers after the show each night in TAP’s for autographs and dancing. On Friday night it’s the Corona/Crown Royal Fiesta Party, followed on Saturday by a Molson/Captain Morgan “Pirate” Costume Party.
