Nebraska College Student Dies on Colorado Ski Trip

Boulder, CO – A 21-year-old Hastings College student from Nebraska died on Wednesday of injuries sustained when she struck a tree at Eldora Mountain Resort in Nederland, Colo. on Tuesday.nDanielle Busboom was skiing with friends on the intermediate Hot Dog Alley run at Eldora at around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday when she reportedly veered off the trail and into a stand of trees. Eldora Ski Patrol was on the scene in approximately four minutes and evacuated the victim before she was transported to Boulder Community Hospital, where Busboom died on Wednesday.

Busboom was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. A vigil is planned for next week on the Hastings College campus in Hastings, Neb.
