Idaho’s Bogus Basin Getting New High-Speed Quad

Boise, ID – Workers will be busy this summer at Bogus Basin ski area near Boise, replacing an aging double chairlift with a new high-speed quad.nThe new lift will replace Bogus Basin’s Chair 3, also known as the Superior Lift, a double built on the mountain’s backside in 1964. The ride time for the new lift will be half that of the lift it’s replacing, currently the mountain’s oldest chair.

The new lift will be ready to ride in time for the 2011-12 ski and snowboard season. Bogus Basin officials are currently conducting a fundraising drive to help pay for the new lift. A loan will fund the remainder of the lift’s cost, and the resort’s lowest season pass prices are expected to jump from $199 to $299 in 2012-13 to help pay the loan.
