Mammoth Mountain, CA – San Diego After-School All-Stars (ASAS) is hosting a skiing weekend fundraiser at California’s Mammoth Mountain ski area April 29 to May 1 with students and special guest, ASAS founder, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The San Diego chapter joins Los Angeles, Hawaii, Las Vegas and the Bay Area chapters in this annual event that will raise money for the cause that provides quality, free after-school programs for children in need. For many of the 60 participating students, this will be the first time they’ve left their neighborhood, or even seen the snow.nStudents and participants will have the opportunity to ski or snowboard throughout the weekend, take lessons from Mammoth CEO Rusty Gregory, attend a career panel with Mammoth employees, and have lunch, a press conference or even ski with former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, depending on level of sponsorship.
The programming for the students is part of the organization’s Career Explorations Opportunity (C.E.O) initiative, which inspires underserved students to explore their passions and career options.
“Many students say that the best part of the Mammoth trip is the fact that they get to sleep in their own beds,” said San Diego After-School All-Stars Executive Director Tyree Dillingham. “It’s giving them a vacation they may have never had, and Rusty and Arnold are inspiring role models to demonstrate how to work hard and pursue their dreams.”
Sponsorship packages start at $2,500 per couple and include two-night accommodations, ski rentals and lift tickets for the weekend. Premium packages include lunch with Rusty Gregory on Saturday, and lunch or skiing with Arnold Schwarzenegger on Sunday. Individual rates are offered for the weekend as well. Sponsors can purchase a package or individual rates are available. For more information email Renee Croce at renee(at)reneecroce.com, call (619) 223-3916 or visit www.SDAfterschoolAllstars.org.
