Kirkwood, CA – After a record-breaking season of snow Kirkwood Mountain Resort will be open for skiing and riding on Memorial Day Weekend.   With an unprecedented 65 feet of snowfall throughout the 2010-11 winter season, and cooler than normal spring temperatures, conditions at the California ski and snowboard resort are amazing for the end of May.    The resort will be open on Saturday and Sunday with two lifts in operation.  Ticket prices will be $35 for adults each day.

“Opening this weekend is a way for us to say thank you to our loyal guests and local core skiers and riders looking for something cool to do on Memorial Day weekend,” says Chip Seamans, COO of Kirkwood Mountain Resort.   “We still have great coverage throughout the mountain – skiers and riders are in for an incredible weekend.”

Chairs #10 “The Wall” and #11 “The Reut” will be open to the public starting at 8 a.m. and run until 2 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.  The resort will not be operational on Monday.  Lift tickets are priced at $35 for the day with youth, senior and child pricing available.   The resort will be honoring any Kirkwood season pass from last season as well as any 2011-12 Kirkwood pass.
