Verbier, Switzerland – Faction Skis has announced the release of one of their new models, The Prodigy. A percentage of The Prodigy’s international sales will go to help the Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims.
Faction, has worked closely with Japanese born, Whistler living artist Taka Sudo for a number of years and asked Sudo for his perception of the Japanese flag to work into the graphics of the new ski. The final graphic is a colloboration between Sudo and Mac10, the company’s in-house designer/artist.
The Prodigy is an all around fat twintip ski with Faction’s Patent Pending STP Technology, which allows for 30% of the weight to be pressed out of the ski while maintaining torsional strength, the company asserts, allowing for a light weight ski with above average edge grip. With a 98mm waist, traditional camber underfoot and rocker in the tip and tail, Faction view this as their most versatile ski yet, and predict it will be one of their biggest sellers, helping to benefit those suffering the after effects of the Earthquake in Japan.
