Aspen, CO – The Aspen Skiing Co., operators of the four ski resorts surrounding this Colorado town, has been sued by two people injured last July 4th when a ski lift loading platform collapsed.

Donny Bellm of Aspen, Colo., and K. DezaRae O’Flannery of Redstone, Colo., filed the lawsuit Friday in Pitkin County District Court. The two allege that they were seated on the loading platform of Lift 1A on Aspen Mountain to watch the holiday fireworks when the platform collapsed at around 9:30 p.m., resulting in unstated injuries.

The two plaintiffs are seeking at least $100,000 in compensation. They are represented by Denver attorneys Chad Hemmat and Ethan McQuinn.
