Sunday River Bike Park to Open with New Trail

Newry, ME – New this summer, gravity gods and goddesses will have another trail at Maine’s Sunday River ski area upon which to hone their skills thanks to the addition of Rock Star, a newly constructed advanced/intermediate single track trail located in the Sunday River Bike Park. Now in its fourth year of continuous operation, the bike park will open for the summer season on Friday, June 24.

Ranging from beginner trails like Easy Tiger, which was built two years ago, to more challenging single tracks like this year’s new Rock Star, guests to Sunday River’s Bike Park will also find jumps, log rides, bridges, and berms sprinkled throughout the resort’s 20 miles of lift-serviced terrain.

Open Fridays through Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through the resort’s Fall Festival Weekend, October 8–9, 2011, plus holidays, guests can choose to access the bike park by riding to the Chondola to the park’s many trailheads on North Peak or by the power of their own pedal.
