Colorado’s Keystone Resort Rings in July 4th with Free Live Music, Fireworks

Keystone, CO – Keystone Resort will celebrate our Nation’s Birthday in the Rocky Mountains with family events scheduled for the holiday at the Colorado ski and snowboard resort.

“River Run Rocks” starts Saturday with a free performance by the  Six Million Dollar Band and Five 13 in River Run Village. On July 4th a free fishing derby for kids 13 and under is on tap at Lakeside Village. Wear your red, white, and blue proudly in the annual River Run Independence Day Parade.  The summer Kidtopia KidsFest will debut with free activities for everyone, including a petting zoo, face painting, games and more. Free parking will be available at the River Run parking lots, located just off Gondola Road.

Those who want to play in the snow may opt for Keystone’s summer snow tubing at the top of Dercum Mountain. Guests can also mix winter and summer by tubing in the morning and mountain biking in the afternoon at Keystone’s Bike Park, golf at one of two of Keystone’s 18-hole courses or horseback riding at Keystone Stables.

The holiday will, of course, conclude with fireworks. The aerial spectacle will begin at 9 p.m. in Keystone’s Lakeside Village.

The following weekend, July 9-10 is Keystone’s annual Wine & Jazz Festival with more than 300 wines to sample and jazz musicians straight out of New Orleans including Big Sam’s Funky Nation, The Side Guys and more. There will be wine tastings and seminars on the schedule both Saturday and Sunday. There will also be a free KidZone activity center set up with face painting, gem panning, and a bouncy house for the kids.
