Park City, UT – For its eighth season, Deer Valley Resort’s summer concert line-up centers around a full repertoire of musical performances from the Utah Symphony’s Deer Valley Music Festival. Locals and visitors of all ages happily anticipate this month-long celebration of music in Park City, enjoyed at the Utah ski resort’s Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater.
The Deer Valley Music Festival, presented by the Utah Symphony, runs from July 16 to August 13, featuring performances of classical and pops music with various guest artists at the Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater, chamber orchestra and guest chamber performances at Park City’s St. Mary’s Church and Temple Har Shalom, and salon events in luxurious Deer Valley area homes, where guests will hear and meet artists.
The 2011 Deer Valley Music Festival performances include The Music of The Eagles on July 16, the Von Trapp children on July 22, Chris Botti on July 23, Summer Pops with Keith Lockhart and Time for Three on July 29, Idina Menzel on July 30, Holst’s The Planets on August 5,“Broadway Rocks” on August 6, 1812 Overture on August 12 and The Music of Queen on August 13. At all of Deer Valley’s summer concerts, guests may bring their own picnic baskets or purchase Deer Valley Gourmet Picnic Baskets or Bags with a 72-hour advance notice. Gourmet Picnic Baskets include lightly smoked salmon or chilled filet of beef, with antipasto of steamed artichokes, homemade aioli, imported olives, Creminelli truffle salami and pear tomatoes, double cream French Brie with a fresh baguette and seasonal fruit and tasty sweets from Deer Valley’s bakery. The Gourmet Picnic Bags include tomato, basil and mozzarella and a roasted turkey, Brie and fig sandwich, with local Beehive cheeses, Caesar salad, homemade chips and a Deer Valley jumbo chocolate chip cookie. Also, on-site concession stands serve Deer Valley favorites such as grilled chicken sandwiches with sautéed onions and mushrooms, burgers and garden burgers, chicken Caesar salads, the famed Deer Valley Turkey Chili (or a Turkey Chili Dog), Deer Valley’s jumbo cookies, homemade ice cream sandwiches and more.
Deer Valley Lodging and Reservations also offers a Concert Package, including a concert evening for two with tickets to the Utah Symphony’s Deer Valley Music Festival and one night’s lodging in a hotel room at the Lodges at Deer Valley or the Silver Baron Lodge starting at $159.
Deer Valley’s summer operations, lift-served mountain biking and hiking, scenic chairlift rides, lunch at Royal Street Café and Deer Valley Grocery~Café’s extended dinner hours are in place through Labor Day and lift-served activities will continue to be offered on September 10 and 11, weather and conditions permitting.
