Bridgetown, Barbados – A London company has made it possible to quite literally ski through the Caribbean Sea.
IgluCruise has set sail with a ship by the same name that features a 150 meter-long open air ski slope on its top deck that’s covered with the Perma-Snow all weather ski carpet and serviced by a poma lift. Up to 1,129 passengers can schuss down the slope as the ship travels from Barbados to ports of call in Tobago, Isla Margarita, St. Lucia, Grenada and St. Vincent before returning to Barbados in a cruise that sets sail on December 15, 2011.
Prices begin at £799 and include round-trip airfare from the UK, stateroom accommodation, all meals and snacks on board including Alpine favorites like rösti and cheese raclette, 24 hour room service, all entertainment, a fitness center, use of the sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room and a 36-person hot tub at the foot of the ski slope, ski and boot rental, use of the ski slope, kids activities, all port taxes and fees. An après-ski bar will be serving a collection of schnapps, gluhwein and more.
This has to rank right up there among the world’s most unique ski-related vacations. For more information visit www.iglucruise.com.
