Taylors Falls, MN – Minnesota’s Wild Mountain ski area in the St. Croix Valley northeast of the Twin Cities will host their 37th Annual Equipment Swap & Open House this weekend. It’s a perfect time to clean out the garage and to see what still fits from last season.
If you need to sell some equipment or purchase new gear, sale hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Equipment and clothing check-in takes place from noon to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday, for those looking to sell their stuff. There is a $5.00 fee per person to put items in the swap and 15% of the sale proceeds go to benefit the Wild Mountain Ski Patrol.
In addition to the swap, the ski area will be hosting a rail jam on Saturday with $1,000 going to the winner. If you don’t want to compete, but would still like to come out and slide on some snow, Wild Mountain will also be offering a side box for you to come out and play on. The cost is $15, $12 if you pre-register for the competition and $10, $8 if you pre-register for the side box. The event will also be holding a clothing drive for YouthLink, a non-profit serving homeless and precariously housed young people aged 16 to 21. Wild Mountain officials will be accepting donations of winter outerwear that is in good condition.
