Want a Real Ski Party? Rent a Whole Resort

San Francisco, CA – If you’ve ever dreamed of having an entire ski mountain to yourself with only your closest friends, with no lift lines and nothing but open terrain, online lift ticket retailer Liftopia is making it a reality for skiers and snowboarders in the tri-state New York and New England regions. The company has partnered with Plattekill Mountain in Roxbury, N.Y.; Mt Abram in Greenwood, Maine; Camden Snow Bowl in Camden, Maine; and Whaleback in Enfield, N.H., to offer an exclusive mid-week full mountain rental.

The new private rental program is aimed at skiers looking for a party with friends, a family reunion, fundraiser, or corporate event.

“An exclusive offering such as the Plattekill Mountain, Camden Snow Bowl, Whaleback and Mt. Abram private mountain rental is a great example of the type of high-value ski experience we are working to provide this season on Liftopia,” said Ron Schneidermann, co-founder and COO of Liftopia. “We love having the opportunity to work with our mountain resort partners to give skiers and boarders new experiences at great values, while helping resorts expand their customer base and get more folks on their mountain.”

Plattekill Mountain is available for a private rental for up to 250 people for $3,000 per day on non-holiday Mondays through Thursdays January through March, when the resort is normally closed to the public. It’s located three hours (153 miles) outside of New York City and offers skiers and boarders access to 35 trails of varied terrain for every ability level. Attendees will receive discounted rates on rentals and lessons and have access to all of the facilities including chairlifts and food and beverage concessions. The Tubing Hill can also be rented in conjunction with the mountain for $3,600 or on its own for four hours at a time for $900 for up to 75 people.

Mt. Abram is available non-holiday Mondays through Wednesdays at a cost of $4,600 for up to 250 people. The mountain boasts 44 trails of all ability terrain, five lifts, jib park, and Maine’s first “boundary to boundary” ski policy, which increased the skiable and rideable area from 250 acres of trails to 550 acres of trails, glades, tree lines and powder stashes. Guests can design their own perfect ski day with anything from BBQ and brews to lobster and champagne après ski. The price drops to $2,800 if only intermediate and expert ski terrain is desired.

Only a two-hour drive from Boston, Whaleback Mountain is conveniently located right off Interstate 89 in New Hampshire. A fee of $3,000 for four hours on any non-holiday Monday for up to 25 people includes summit lift access and all open terrain, access to the base lodge for changing, bathrooms, and water fountains, and groomed terrain on major slopes and popular runs. Special grooming arrangements can be made upon request for the resort’s learning area magic carpet and rope tow, and food and beverage concessions, rental shop service, night skiing and extended lift operating time beyond the normal 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. hours may be arranged as well.
