Okemo Gears Up for Ski and Snowboard Swap

Ludlow, VT – This weekend, the annual Ski and Snowboard Swap to benefit Okemo Mountain School is the place to gear up for the winter with new and used equipment at great prices. Skiers and snowboarders will find everything they need to make the most out of the snowy season: skis, snowboards, boots, bindings, helmets, goggles, outerwear and more. Proceeds benefit the Okemo Mountain School, in Ludlow.

The Swap takes place in the Clock Tower Base Lodge at southern Vermont’s Okemo Mountain Resort. The sale runs from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18 (3 to 4 p.m., preview hour – $5 admission or free for Okemo employees); 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20.

Anyone interested in parting with gear seven years old or newer can sell it on consignment. Twenty-five percent of the selling price goes to Okemo Mountain School and the remainder is mailed to the seller about three weeks after the Swap. Consignment items will only be accepted at Okemo’s First Aid Building (in the Clock Tower Base Area): Saturday, Nov. 12, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, Nov. 16, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Okemo Mountain School is a non-profit educational institution dedicated to the academic and athletic development of serious snowsports athletes. Student athletes are given the opportunity to train in alpine ski racing, snowboarding, and freestyle skiing, while pursuing a rigorous course of academic study. Okemo Mountain School relies heavily on fundraisers like the Swap to help keep tuition affordable.
