South Lake Tahoe, CA – The worlds of digital storytelling, snowsports and technology will converge at Heavenly Mountain Resort January 18 – 21 for the fourth annual Tahoe Snowcial, a one-of-a-kind winter festival that celebrates the global community who live their passion on the snow and tell their stories online.
The Snowcial Organizing Committee has announced that Joe Fernandez, CEO and co-founder of Klout, the social media analytics site that measures a user’s influence across their social network, will headline the conference portion of the event as the keynote speaker.
“Snowsports are all about hanging out with your friends and expressing yourself on the mountain. Bringing this combination online is really exciting to me and I am proud to be involved with Snowcial,” Fernandez said. “I grew up in South Lake Tahoe and learned everything I know about snowsports at Heavenly Mountain Resort. I am very much looking forward to this homecoming.”
Fernandez will be joined by Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz on the conference’s first day, which will feature a lineup of soon-to-be-announced speakers. Day Two will consist of panels that cover topics such as technology tools and techniques, the science of social, measurement, storytelling and social media’s influence on action sports.
The event would not be complete without plenty of skiing, snowboarding, concerts, entertainment and networking. The on-mountain activities are highlighted by the Saturday scavenger hunt powered by EpicMix, Vail Resorts’ mobile and online application that digitally captures and shares your ski or ride day with friends and family.
Called the Sundance for the Facebook generation, Tahoe Snowcial is the most significant event for connecting the connected snowsports enthusiast. Early bird conference and discount room rates that start at $450 end November 30.
