Ski Industry Veterans Launch New Alaska Heli-Ski Operation

Tordrillo Range, AK – After two decades of sharing their helicopter skiing passion and unmatched expertise with guests from all over the world, three industry legends have teamed up to offer a  more unforgettable year-round experience to global adventure-seekers.  After fifteen years, Tommy Moe, Greg Harms and Mike Overcast have left Chugach Powder Guides to launch their own guiding company, Tordrillo Mountain Lodge.

Starting this spring, Moe, Harms and Overcast will no longer lease their Tordrillo Mountain Lodge property to EpicQuest, as it has in the past.  And they will no longer be involved in operations at Chugach Powder Guides or EpicQuest.

“We treasure all the amazing moments and people that have made our previous guiding years so memorable,” says Overcast.  “And now we’re excited about the next chapter that includes the same high-level leadership, expertise and service…but with the additional quality we know we can offer by being owners and taking the management back.”

Known for pioneering more new terrain than anyone in Alaska, Moe, Harms and Overcast have gathered a team that consists of some of the industry’s most accomplished backcountry guides to go well beyond winter and offernot onlyAlaska heli skiing and boarding, but also fly fishing, whitewater rafting, hiking and other guided outdoor adventures.

“When people think about heli adventure, we want them to think about it in Alaska size scale. It’s unbelievable all the experiences we can unlock for them,” says Overcast. “In addition to what we’ve accomplished in the ski industry, we also host fishermen, whitewater runners and backcountry hikers. And we’re excited to share that with adventurers from all over the world.”

Tordrillo Mountain Lodge is currently booking trips for its June fishing-and-skiing program called “Cast and Carve” which combines heli-supported corn snow skiing and king salmon and rainbow trout fishing. Managers are also taking calls about summertime adventures and heli-skiing for the 2012-13 winter season.
