The decision not to hold the Chicken Jam at Mammoth Mountain in 2012 does not reflect a decrease in attention to the brand’s snow program, company officials say, adding that they hope to bring the event back in the future.  After a four-year partnership, officials say that this separation resulted from an amicable understanding between Roxy and Mammoth Mountain. No reason was given for the decision.

Roxy continues to support their snow division with the Roxy Snow Pro competition and Shooting Star Video contest.  The Roxy Snow Pro, a 5 Star TTR all-girl slopestyle event, brings together top female snowboarders to compete for a $25,000 prize purse.  The contest, held at Nightpark Saalbach Hinterglemm in Austria, begins today.

In efforts to support amateur riders, Roxy has launched the second year of the Shooting Star Video Contest.  This video-based contest engages a growing generation of girl snowboard enthusiasts who are media and web savvy do-it-yourselfers.  New to the contest this year, there are advanced and beginner/intermediate categories.  The contest kicked off last weekend and will announce weekly winners with a grand prize winner announced on March 6.
