Nick Seguin, a 10th grade student in London, Ontario, died on Wednesday of head injuries after being flown to Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children following the incident. He was skiing at Craigleith with his mother and two younger brothers, one of whom found Seguin unconscious in the snow.

Further details regarding the incident are not yet available, other than that Seguin suffered the head injuries in a fall. News reports indicate that Seguin was an accomplished skier who raced for more than six years with Cobble Hills Racing. He had recently received ski instructor certification.

Seguin’s deadly ski accident was the second such incident in the Collingwood area within a week. Also on Monday, a 45-year-old firefighter, Sander White of Barrie, Ontario, succumbed to injuries received several days earlier when he crashed into trees while skiing at nearby Blue Mountain ski area.
