Val d’Isere, France – A British skier fell 650 feet over cliffs to his death in Val d’Isere on Wednesday, the second fatality to occur on the ski slopes of the French resort little more than a week.
Ed How, 37, a chemistry teacher from Godalming, in Surrey, was skiing with friends on the mountain’s challenging Face du Charvet when he lost control and tumbled down a series of cliffs. A mountain employee witnessed the accident and summoned rescuers, who pronounced How dead at the scene.
How was married with an infant child, officials with the Charterhouse school where he was employed indicate.
Just last week, a 22-year-old employee of the British tour operator Crystal Ski died after colliding with a snowmaking gun in Val d’Isere.
