Denver, CO – Colorado-based EcoGroomer, Inc. announced on Wednesday that the company has partnered with Power Equipment Co. of Denver to be the first distributor for their innovative new snow grooming machines.
The EcoGroomer is designed to reduce the high costs associated with nightly snow grooming. The company’s technology improves resort grooming productivity by adding two additional Snow Processing Units (SPU’s) to the sides of a standard snow cat in addition to the tiller trailing the vehicle, resulting in a 200 percent increase of surface area coverage by a single operator. Overall fuel efficiency will be improved by more than 35 percent and total grooming expense will be reduced significantly at the resorts with this new technology, company officials indicate, with the potential to save over 20 million gallons of diesel by 2020.
“This is a great deal for both companies… to partner with a well established and respected company like Power Equipment Co. that has all of the infrastructure and resources already in place to provide a very high level of service to the resort operators gives us a great head start and allows us to continue to move forward at a rapid pace to bring this product to market,” said Daniel Osborne, CEO of EcoGroomer. “Likewise for our partner to be able to offer another critical piece of equipment to many customers that they are already working with makes a lot of sense both financially and logistically.”
Will Ricketts, an avid skier and VP of Power Equipment Co., was instrumental in helping to put the deal together.
EcoGroomer has chosen to outsource both the manufacturing and distribution of their new machines. This allows the company to focus on innovation, marketing and customer service without incurring the high cost associated with building a manufacturing plant and extensive distribution infrastructure, Osborne says.
