Big Bear Lake, CA – This year’s 9th annual Hot Dawgz & Hand Rails, presented by Red Bull, is set to take place at Bear Mountain on Saturday, Sept. 22 starting at 2 p.m. Watch 40 top snowboarders with raw talent battle it out for $15,000 cash on 130 tons of man made snow at this ultimate park showdown. This unique, summertime snowboarding competition will feature some of the best professional jibbers in North America to compete on new urban-style park features that will be available for the public to ride in the RedBull Plaza at Bear Mountain this winter.
“This is the most stacked list I’ve seen in a while; these riders are going to get competitive to win that cash,” professional snowboarder and judge Chris Bradshaw says of the rider lineup this year. “This is going to be a huge event as far as tricks and progression – it’ll be a hard one to judge but really fun to watch.”
Other judges will include Bear pro team riders Joe Sexton, JP Walker and Scott Stevens. Athletes scheduled to compete include Scott Vine, Zak Hale, Brandon Hobush and Dylan Alito.
This winter kick-off party will feature music from live artists and DJs. Guests can walk away with giveaways from Vendor Booth City. Watch the competition from the SoCal inspired “scene” at Bear Mountain where there will be a BBQ, hot dog eating contest and full bar for those who are 21 and older.
Attendance is free of charge. Bear Mountain’s Ice Box sports shop will hold its annual 20 percent off sale on 2012-2013 winter gear, featuring 50 percent off last season’s outerwear, in conjunction with the event.
