Schaumburg, IL – Are you ready to hit the slopes? Winter sports season is almost here so the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel is hosting the largest consumer ski and snowboard show in the Midwest to meet your skiing and shredding needs before the first snow.
From October 19th to October 21st, the convention center will open their doors for retailers, resorts, manufacturer reps and clubs in over 100,000 square feet of space for the annual Windy City Ski & Snowboard Show. Attendees can enjoy discounts on apparel and equipment from vendors and retailers and have the opportunity to win thousands in prizes and lift ticket giveaways for planning your next mountain getaway.
Show creator and owner of the Skokie, Ill.-based Shred Shop, Chris Bachmann, explains that the family friendly event is a fun way to kick-off the winter season.
“Over the years we’ve garnered a huge following. Last year nearly 25,000 ski and snowboard enthusiasts came through,” says Bachmann. “This is the biggest ski and snowboard event to hit the Midwest.”
The Super Sale ski and snowboard swap, part of the Windy City show, is run by the Southern Region Ski Patrol as an independent fund raising effort. There is a $2 per person charge for placing up to four items for sale and additional items will be charged at $0.50 each. If the item is not sold you simply take it back, but if the item sells a 15 percent commission is deducted from the selling price. The minimum commission is $1 per item sold. If you wish to pick up your unsold merchandise on the last day of the Ski Sale, your receipt will allow you free admission to the show after 5 p.m. on Sunday, and unsold gear must be picked up by 9 p.m.
Show hours are from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, October 19th; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 20th; and from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 21st. Admission costs $12 for adults and kids under 12 enter free. Paid admission includes lift ticket vouchers to Boyne and Indian Head Resort. Tickets to the show may be purchased online or at the door.
