Kuller was cutting down a tree limb on his property this past Sunday when he sustained a head injury.

Kuller took over the community’s parks and recreation job in 2004. Under his leadership cross-country skiing returned to Camden Snow Bowl and the municipally owned alpine ski area’s snowmaking expanded along with learn to ski programs for area schoolchildren.

Over 500 mourners filled the Camden Opera House for a memorial service this morning. Friends described Kuller as a man with boundless energy and enthusiasm for the outdoors.

“The Camden Snow Bowl lost our leader and friend this week,” ski area officials posted to the hill’s Facebook page. “Our thoughts are with his family and friends as we all deal with this great loss and tragedy.”
