Vail, CO – Olympic gold medalist and four-time and current overall World Cup alpine ski racing champion Lindsey Vonn has been admitted to a Vail hospital with an undisclosed illness.
Vonn, who skipped the World Cup slalom races this past weekend in Levi, Finland, in favor of continued training at Copper Mountain in Colorado for the upcoming Aspen Winternational World Cup ski races nearby, also canceled a promotional appearance in Vail this past Friday due to illness.
No further word on Vonn’s condition was available at press time. The U.S. Ski Team issued a statement on Monday afternoon indicating that more information will be released when it becomes available.
