Harbor Springs, MI – The ski season was less than a week old at Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs when a 17-year-old snowboarder died in an accident on the Michigan resort’s slopes on Sunday afternoon.
Kasandra Knapp of Alanson, Mich., was on the resort’s Camelot beginner slope at around 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon when she was injured in a fall. Knapp was transferred to McLaren-Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Mich., where she later died.
