Park City, UT – Deer Valley Resort, host of the season opening Celebrity Skifest for over 20 years and JUMA Entertainment, the creator and producers of the event, jointly announced today that Academy Award winner and two-time Grammy winner Melissa Etheridge will be performing a private concert at the Gala Event this Saturday evening benefiting Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s Waterkeeper Alliance. A variety of packages are still available through Waterkeeper Alliance that will provide guests the opportunity to participate in the event and attend an intimate concert with Etheridge.
Celebrities and environmental supporters including Larry David, Rosie Perez and Kevin Nealon will ski in the CBS Celebrity Skifest Race on Saturday, then gather that evening for the Waterkeeper Benefit Gala to support the environmental issue of clean water. Tickets and packages starting at $1,250 are available for the Saturday Gala, which includes cocktails, dinner, auction, special remarks by Kennedy and a live concert for just 300 guests by Etheridge. All of the proceeds from the Gala will benefit Waterkeeper Alliance, a global environmental non-profit.
The 2012 Deer Valley Celebrity Skifest, CBS Television’s top-rated winter sports special each season, is scheduled to air at 5 p.m. EST on Sunday, following the NFL.
